DAV Iron Range Riders Receive Volunteer Recognition Award

     St. Louis County will present a Volunteer Recognition Award to the Disabled American Veterans’ Iron Range Riders on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 9:30 AM at Hibbing City Hall as part of its regular St. Louis County Board meeting.  Seventh District Commissioner Steve Raukar will present the St. Louis County Volunteer Recognition Award to the DAV Iron Range Riders.

     The group provides medical care transportation for over 500 Veterans in northern St. Louis County each year.  The service has been offered for over fourteen years to those who are unable to provide transportation themselves due to illness, disability, or lack of resources.

    Volunteer drivers receive only a nominal reimbursement for mileage for their efforts.
