PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS FOR AIR AND SEA TRAVEL TO CANADA, MEXICO, CARIBBEAN, BERMUDA AND PANAMA
St. Louis County Auditor Donald Dicklich wants to advise the public that there have been recent changes to the new passport requirements for travel to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Bermuda and Panama.
Passports will be required for air travel to those destinations effective January 23, 2007. Passports will be required for land and sea travel effective June 1, 2009.
Auditor Dicklich encourages the public to apply for passports early to prepare for the possible six week delivery period and to avoid the rush at the beginning of the winter travel season.
Passport applications are accepted at the St. Louis County Auditor’s License Center at the Miller Hill Mall and the St. Louis County Administrator’s Office in the Ely Government Services Building. Additional services include:
*Passport photography
*Expedited services and mailing
*Passport forms
*Passport information
*Group sessions in the Duluth area for ten or more applicants
(a representative will travel to sites in the Duluth, Hermantown, Proctor and Cloquet area during the day or evening to handle their passport needs)
The St. Louis County Auditor’s License Center in the Miller Hill Mall accepts passport applications from 9 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday and from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday. The Ely Administrator’s Office accepts passport applications from 8 AM to 11:30 AM and 1 PM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday.
