The St. Louis County Land Department houses historical aerial photography covering much of St. Louis County. The photography was taken approximately every ten years starting in 1948. The department has had the paper copies of the photography converted to digital format to be made available to the public.
The images are located by their approximate center points and are not orthorectified. The original photos are 9”x 9” black and white infrared imagery with a nominal scale of 1:15840 (4 inches to 1 mile) These were scanned in at 1200 bits per inch and saved in jpeg format.
This photography is now available on the Minnesota DNR Landview web site at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/landview.html. They may be viewed here and the full resolution (1200bpi) images may be downloaded at no cost.
