Intergovernmental Affairs
The Intergovernmental Affairs Division is responsible for keeping abreast of Legislative initiatives which will impact the County. The Legislative Liaison works directly with the County Board, the County Administrator, State agencies, Legislators, legislative staff, and a variety of city, county and township associations in order to ensure that policy-makers are fully aware of the financial, organizational, social, and environmental effects that current policy and policy changes have on the County and the region. Prior to each Minnesota State Legislative session, this office puts together, in conjunction with Commissioners and other staff, a legislative program that ranks policy and funding issues that will impact the County.
