On Tuesday, September 9th, 2008, the St. Louis County Board will certify the maximum property tax levy for 2009-2010. The proposed 2009 St. Louis County budget totals $352,573,493, which will allow the county to carry out high quality yet efficient services to citizens in the areas of planning and zoning, land management, solid waste, public works, public health, human services, criminal justice, economic development and general government services. The county proposes to levy $106,523,778 in property tax dollars for these services.

With this proposed budget, St. Louis County’s property tax would increase 4.88%, comprised of a 3.36% general levy as certified by the State and special levies.
