Rescue Squad - Statistics

In 2008, the unit saw its 7000th mission, which included the 1000th water mission. The water fatality recovery total rose to 368 since the Rescue Squad was founded in 1958.  Of these, only 10 were wearing Personal Flotation Devices (PFD).  Please were your life jacket!

Rescue Squad members volunteered a total of 17,910.5 hours and participated in 319 operations in 2009.

Numbers like these would be impossible without the generous support of St. Louis County residents and businesses during our annual fundraising drive.  Quite simply, we couldn’t accomplish our mission without your support!

In 2009, to support the varied mission of the Rescue Squad, members engaged in many hours of training throughout the year.  Finally, Squad members also presented a number of public safety talks and displays throughout the community.
