Rescue Squad - Cadaver Dogs

Currently there are two cadaver dogs who work with the St. Louis County Rescue Squad.  K-9 Abe and K-9 Otter are Labrador Retrievers who are trained to detect human remains.  Trained cadaver dogs are able to distinguish between human remains, animal remains, and a wide range of other odors that would normally be expected to distract them.

K-9 Abe and K-9 Otter live with Duluth Police Officer/St. Louis County Rescue Squad Member Dave Drozdowski and St. Louis County Rescue Squad Member Laura Drozdowski.

K-9 Abe is a 2 year old yellow Labrador Retriever who is certified in cadaver and currently training for scent specific tracking/trailing.  K-9 Abe weighs 63 lbs.

K-9 Otter is a 6 year old yellow Labrador Retriever who is certified in cadaver and currently training for scent specific tracking/trailing.  K-9 Otter weighs 79 lbs.
