Rescue Squad - Human Trackers

In 1998, Universal Tracking Services (UTS) taught the St. Louis County Rescue Squad their first formal course in human tracking.  Human tracking is the act (some say the art) of recognizing, interpreting, and following the evidence of human passage on the ground.  This evidence can consist of compressed soil, damaged vegetation, etc.

The addition of that tool to the toolbox forever changed the face of searching in St. Louis County.

Universal Tracking Services has four levels of tracking certification.  They are:

Level I Track Aware
Level II Tracker I
Level III Tracker II
Level IV Sign Cutters

The St. Louis County Rescue Squad currently have members who are trained as Track Aware, Tracker I and Tracker II.
