St. Louis County will now accept applications continuously for the Deputy Sheriff (licensed officer) positions and will accept applications for other job opportunities with the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office when posted by Employee Relations.

Employment opportunities are publicized by the St. Louis County Civil Service Department by posting announcements on bulletin boards in the County Courthouses located in Duluth, Hibbing and Virginia, and in such other places as the Director deems advisable. 

In addition, Deputy Sheriff announcements will be posted on the Minnesota Peace Officers Opportunity Line (POOL).

Competitive examinations are required and are open to persons who meet the minimum qualifications of the positions advertised. Applicant names will be ranked on eligible hiring registers based on results of competitive examinations.
