Purchasing Department Vendor Information

 

DemandStar

 

Introduction:

The St. Louis County Purchasing Department has instituted the DemandStar system to provide current information to potential contractors, consultants, and other types of vendors, as well as the general public. The system allows you to receive the information quickly, at your convenience, whenever and wherever you choose, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All you need is an internet connection. Although the Purchasing Department office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, the DemandStar system is never closed and you can contact DemandStar by Onvia, Inc. on the internet.

 

Who should use this system?

  • Individuals and businesses wanting to become a supplier for St. Louis County
  • Established suppliers who need to update their information to remain competitive
  • Suppliers who want to obtain copies of Bids >$50,000 and Request For Proposals (RFPs), and Request For Information (RFIs)
  • Suppliers who want to know the status of Bids and RFPs

 

What type of information is available on the system?

Legal advertisements, mail order request forms, bid/RFP addendum, bid tabulation sheets and bidders' lists are available along with the following:

  • Current Procurement Listings
  • Formal Contracts and Construction Bids

Visit the DemandStar by Onvia, Inc. site on the internet at www.demandstar.com Browse the information on their home page and then click on "Supplier Services". After you have registered with DemandStar by Onvia, Inc., you receive:

  • Automatic e-mail/fax notification of bid specifications and addenda in your selected commodity codes
  • Greater access to bid opportunities
  • Guaranteed delivery of addenda
  • Access to blueprints
  • Access to tabulation sheets
  • Access to Bidders' lists
  • Free download of bid documents
  • Access to a variety of government agencies
  • Access to valuable, real-time information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

Informal Bid Opportunities

St. Louis County currently posts only formal bid opportunities. Future plans include adding informal bids which will open up a new world of opportunity for small and large suppliers alike. After this program has been implemented, registered members will be able to receive bids electronically and submit their responses directly to St. Louis County through the website.

 

Electronic Bidding:  All bidders are required to submit their bids electronically through DemandStar. Any required documentation must also be scanned and sent along with bids. If there are questions on how to submit bids electronically, you may contact DemandStar at (800) 711-1712.
