County Fee Land
St. Louis County has approximately 1200 parcels of land owned in fee. Some of the parcels have County facilities located on them, such as the courthouses in Duluth, Hibbing and Virginia. Other parcels are bare land, which may be in use by the County’s Public Works Department for gravel. Many parcels were purchased by the County for road construction projects. In 2004, the St. Louis County Board approved the Policy for the Sale of County Fee Lands. Parcels deemed surplus by the County may be purchased. An application is required.
