The Mission of Public Health is to promote and improve the health and quality of life of the people of St. Louis County.  Public Health Staff implement this mission by following a set of  "Guiding Principles." 

Public Health Services include:  immunization information and clinics, prenatal and postpartum education and support; communicable disease prevention control and surveillance, parent and child health services, health education and epidemiological services; monitoring establishments to assure safe drinking water and clean indoor air;  enforcement of  rules governing restaurants, lodging facilities, swimming pools, beaches and  individual sewage treatment systems. In addition, Public Health operates a laboratory to test and evaluate drinking water wells and recreational surface waters. 

Public Health services include statistical and related data about the health of the community / county. Professionals are available to partner with community organizations to assist them in improving and promoting community health.
