The St. Louis County Attorney's Office has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of a standard protocol and training for persons who are called upon to conduct investigative interviews of children.  No one interviews a child in St. Louis County unless they have received specialized training at First Witness or a comparable program.  All interviews are audio and visually recorded and the interviewers are assisted by a monitoring team which includes an assistant county attorney during the interview.  The office continues to be a national resource for the continued training for prosecutors, law enforcement officers, physicians and social workers on the issue of child sexual abuse investigation and prosecution.
