NORTHLAND LAW ENFORCEMENT/CORRECTIONS EXPO

Area public service agencies are hosting the fifth annual Northland Law Enforcement /Corrections Expo on Saturday, August 28, 2004 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM at the Hermantown Department of Public Safety Facility, 5111 Maple Grove Road, Hermantown.

The free expo will feature activities for families, including 9-1-1 call training for children and presentations by the Minnesota State Patrol (Rappelling), Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College (Felony Traffic Stop demonstration), Duluth Police Department (Canine demonstration), St. Louis County Volunteer Rescue Squad (Motor vehicle extrication), St. Luke's One (Helicopter pickup demonstration), Hermantown Police Department (Taser demonstration) and Superior Police Department (Harley Davidson Motorcycle demonstration).

There will also be numerous displays of emergency response and tactical equipment, including hovercraft, helicopters, and squad cars.

Law enforcement, corrections, and emergency dispatch agencies throughout the Arrowhead Region, law enforcement schools and the Minnesota POST (Police Officers Standards and Training) Board have been invited to recruit and discuss career opportunities with person's interested in public safety professions.
