St. Louis County Board to Hear Impact of Methamphetamine Use on Health and Safety Today

As part of a statewide effort to address the impact of methamphetamine use on public health and safety, the St. Louis County Board will hear a presentation by Sheriff Ross Litman, Children and Family Services Director Dick Pingry, Public Health Nursing Administrator Guy Peterson, and Employee Safety and Development Director Joe Austin at 9:30 AM today, Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at the St. Louis County Heritage and Arts Center ("The Depot"), 424 West Michigan Street, Duluth. Todayís St. Louis County Board Meeting will be held in front of Veteranís Memorial Hall in the Depot in honor of the opening of the new exhibit: "Dignity Through Unity".

The discussion on Methamphetamine is part of the Association of Minnesota Countiesí (AMC) "Focus on Methamphetamine" plan which seeks to educate residents about challenges to counties due to the rising societal and economic impacts of the drug. 1st District Commissioner Dennis Fink is 2004 President of AMC.
