4-H Summer Camp Applications

St. Louis County Commissioner Joanne Fay is proud to announce that 2004 Summer Camp applications for the St. Louis County 4-H Camp are now available.

The St. Louis County 4-H Camp is located on beautiful Lake Eshquagama in Gilbert, MN. The 4-H camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-15 years. Children do not have to be in 4-H to attend the camp.

The 4-H camp is run by the St. Louis County Promotional Board and is supported with $55,064 property tax dollars.

The St. Louis County 4-H camp was founded in 1935 through proceeds from a national contest for Best 4-H Club, hosted by Sears Roebuck and Company. The St. Louis County 4-H youth won the $10,000 top prize and purchased the Lake Eshquagama property and built the main lodge.

The Promotional Bureau Board Members are: Valeria Witte, President; Russ Isola, Vice President; Walt Hautala, Executive Secretary; Julie Erjavec, Joanne Fay, David Fleischman, Linda Hautala, Eric Kaiser, Don Dicklich, Mary McKay, Keith Nelson, and Chauncey Wargin, Directors.
