St. Louis County Administrator Selected

Following a comprehensive recruitment and interview process, Chair Steve Raukar announced that the St. Louis County Board of Commissioners has chosen Dana W. Frey for the St. Louis County Administrator position.

Dana W. Frey, of Danbury, Wisconsin, is presently on assignment as a Manager for BearingPoint, Inc, an international consulting firm. In his current capacity, he assists international governments and their local jurisdictions in understanding and implementing best practices in budgeting, public expenditure management and taxation. Mr. Frey was also a longtime Executive Director and Fiscal Analyst for the Metropolitan Inter-County Association, one of Minnesota’s oldest and largest councils of government; and also served in a key Minnesota legislative staff position, reporting to the Chairs of the Tax Committees. Mr. Frey holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of North Dakota.

The County Board voted on Tuesday, 2/17/04, to begin negotiations with Dana W. Frey and also to conduct a routine background investigation on the top two candidates: Frey and Interim County Administrator Ann Busche. The County Board will vote on the final details of its County Administrator appointment at a future date.
