St. Louis County Commissioner Voted President of AMC

St. Louis County 1st District Commissioner Dennis Fink was elected President of the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) for 2004 on December 9, 2003 during the Associationís annual conference in Minneapolis. AMC is a statewide organization that assists the stateís 87 counties in providing effective county governance to the people of Minnesota. The association works to achieve legislation favorable to counties, provides educational programs, training, research and communications for county officials.

Commissioner Fink is the current St. Louis County Board Chair and a former Chair of the Arrowhead Counties Association. He serves as the County Boardís representative on the Northern Counties Land Use Coordinating Board, and the St. Louis County Planning Commission. Commissioner Fink was appointed to the National Association of County Officialís (NACO) Energy, Environment, and Land Use Steering Committee, and participated in a state Task Force on Child Welfare.

"Dennisís election is a feather in the cap for St. Louis County," said 4th District Commissioner Mike Forsman. "It will definitely benefit residents to have a St. Louis County Commissioner at the helm of AMC."
